Blast derails four bogies of train

QUETTA, March 23: Four bogies of the Peshawar-bound Quetta Express derailed when a remote-controlled bomb exploded on a track near Dera Murad Jamali on Wednesday.

“A portion of the track linking Quetta with the rest of the country was cut off, disrupting rail traffic,” an official of Pakistan Railways said.

Deputy Commissioner Fateh Mohammad Khajak told Dawn that all passengers on the train were safe.

Sources said the blast blew up a two-foot portion of the track and also damaged the locomotive.—Staff Correspondent
