LAHORE, March 12: The bay mare, Native Force, after a very impressive run last time out, looks all set to gallop away with the Mohy-ud-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb Alamgir Cup, when the 28th Lahore Winter Meeting gets under way at the Racecourse on Sunday.
Although this daughter of Yasoob Again out-of-Native Tune, Native Force has been penalised to carry 8-11 weight on her back after being placed third behind Baker Lard and Ceanu Reeves on March 6 last, yet she has the ability and speed to win the event.
She should be challenged throughout the race by speedy horse Aya Chandiwala and bay Lucky Mayla.
A class V division I handicap race to be gone over 1200m, this will be the fifth race of the day.
In all, seven events have been drawn up on the card with five going over 1200m and the next two over the sprinting distance of 1000m.
Three-year-old bay filly, Eid, who was unlucky to be beaten by one-and-a-half lengths by Shannel on Sunday last should make amends this time and win.
Eid is taking part in the second race, the Mohy-ud-Din Muhammad Aurangzeb Alamgir Plate class V division II, to be gone over 1200m.
The fourth race, the Evernew Plate class IV looks a match between two speedsters, namely, Baker Lard and End Play.
The former is more consistent while the latter is faster.
They should fight for picking up the spoils. Best Trace, the bay colt from Trace Creek out-of-Bang Lady, who was defeated by Royal Bird last time out should make amends in the third race.
Silver Queen and Beena Rai Baby should make their presence felt to pose Best Trace some challenge. The first race will be held at 12.30pm.
