KHAIRPUR, Feb 19: On the report of the outbreak of a skin disease leishmaniasis in taluka Faiz Ganj of district Khairpur, the acting district Nazim, Khairpur, Sher Mohammad Phulpoto, visited different villages of the taluka on Monday.

Accompanied by the EDO health and a team of doctors, he visited Bhango Behan, Amin Pato, Sarang, Rahmatullah Chang and other villages.

On check up some two dozen persons including Hassan Behan, Irfan Khan, Doulat Shar, Ghulam Sarwar Jat, Rasool Bukhsh, Shazia Parveen, Zenab and Maryam were found infected with leishmaniasis.

The villagers told the medical team that some patients of the skin disease had gone to Nawabshah, Hyderabad and Karachi for treatment.

The Nazim directed the health department to set up a medical camp to treat the patients.

Meanwhile, a delegation of growers met the acting Nazim and told him that there was no irrigation water in taluka Faiz Ganj for last three months particularly at the tail of Pandhroo, Veeho and three other minors.

The acting Nazim assured them that he would try to provide irrigation water and supervise the situation.
