Azerbaijan ambassador visits NCA

LAHORE: The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Khazar Farhadov, paid a visit to the National College of Arts on Wednesday, visiting the institution’s different blocks and observing artists and artisans at work.

On his arrival, the distinguished guest was received by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Murtaza Jafri along with Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof Dr Faisal Sajjad and former head of Architecture Department, Syed Maqsood Pasha.

During the visit, the ambassador toured the historic Tollinton Block, where he was introduced to NCA’s rich artistic legacy and vibrant creative environment.

He observed skilled artisans demonstrating traditional crafts, including live weaving on hand-looms and the meticulous process of jewellery making, appreciating the institution’s commitment to preserving Pakistan’s cultural heritage through craftsmanship and education.

He also visited the Graduate Block where he was acquainted with NCA’s ongoing infrastructure development and future expansion plans aimed at enhancing academic and research facilities for students and the faculty.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase NCA’s dedication to artistic excellence while strengthening cultural and educational ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

Discussions held during the visit also explored the potential for future collaboration in the fields of art, design, and cultural exchange.
