LAHORE: The Crime Control Department claimed on Wednesday that a notorious gangster of DG Khan, Akbar Khosa, was allegedly killed during a crossfire, while a police official was also injured.

A CCD spokesperson said the slain suspect was a known extortionist and the seriously-injured official namely Shahzad Ahmad Qureshi was shifted to a hospital where he was being provided with the best possible medical care.

He claimed that a fierce exchange of fire had taken place between a CCD team and the gang of Akbar Khosa when a special team conducted a raid on Multan Road, DG Khan, on Tuesday night to apprehend the suspect.

The spokesperson claimed when the suspect spotted the police, he suspect along with his accomplices resorted to indiscriminate firing. In retaliatory action, Akbar was killed, while his accomplices managed to escape.
