Young man killed as trailer strikes motorcycle

KARACHI: A youth died and two others were injured when a trailer struck a motorcycle on the main Northern Bypass near the Attock petrol pump on Friday evening, police and rescue services officials said.

Officials said the trailer hit the motorcycle, causing the three people travelling on it to fall onto the road and sustain critical injuries.

They were shifted to a hospital for treatment, where the rider, 23-year-old Shehriyar, died. The two pillion riders, Zain Farooq, 25, and Rehman Saeed, 16, were admitted for treatment.

The trailer driver managed to flee the scene, leaving behind the heavy vehicle, which was impounded by the Mochko police.
