KARACHI: The Pakistan Government have decided to place orders for two 15,000 K.W. electric generator sets for installation at Karachi. Besides this, the Central Government being directly responsible for the supply of electricity to the federal Capital, have already placed orders for two 5,000 K.W. steam sets and one 2,800 H.P. diesel engine and one 1,900 diesel set to augment the existing supply of electricity.
The maximum generating capacity of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation is at present 10,500 K.W. which is not dependable as all the generators of the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation cannot continue humming all the time without the risk of a breakdown.
