Officer gets post back two days after transfer

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Friday revisited its orders of shuffling senior bureaucrats issued two days ago and cancelled the posting of an officer, Muhammad Umar Masud, as agriculture department secretary.

In the revised orders, Punjab Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) department Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian has been transferred and posted as agriculture secretary. The post of secretary shall remain upgraded from BS-20 to BS-21 as as long as it is held by Mr Shakeel.

Mr Masud has been reverted to his position as Industries, Commerce and Investment Department secretary. With this reversion, the government also withdrew the orders transferring services secretary, S&GAD, Zaid Bin Maqsood and posted him as LG&CD secretary.

Meanwhile, the government transferred Dr Nasir Mahmood Bashir, Member (Judicial), Board of Revenue (BoR), Punjab, and posted him as Implementation and Coordination (I&C) secretary, S&GAD. Muhammad Jahanzeb has been relieved of the additional charge of the post, assigned to him on Wednesday.

BoR Member (Judicial) Muzaffar Khan has been transferred and posted as secretary of archives and libraries wing, S&GAD, against the post vacated by Muhammad Jahanzeb.

Mr Jahanzeb was transferred and posted as services secretary, S&GAD department.

Already transferred as I&C secretary, the government has posted Syed Muhammad Masood Nouman as BoR Member (Judicial). The post of BoR Member (Judicial), will remain downgraded from BS-21 to BS-20 as personal to Mr Nouman and as long as it is held by him.
