Hezbollah has congratulated Iran on the peace agreement, but also warns Israel “there will be no return to the pre-March 2 status quo”.

“The resistance, which has been and remains the vigilant guardian of the homeland and its people, will not accept any aggression that violates its sovereignty or sheds the blood of its people,” the group says in a statement.

Hezbollah remains committed to Lebanon’s “right to defend its land, its people, and its sovereignty until a complete withdrawal is achieved and the prisoners are returned”, it adds.
