KURRAM: Security sources killed two terrorists after they attempted to attack an under-construction police station in the Kurram district on Sunday.
Security sources said that labourers were busy with the construction, while police officials had been deployed for security. During this time, terrorists demanded that the work stop, which resulted in their clashing with the police. As a result, two terrorists were killed, they said.
The sources said that the terrorists also kidnapped a few of the workers and policemen. However, negotiations were held with the tribal elders, leading to the release of the captives.
They said that additional police personnel also reached the scene, and the situation was brought under control.
Meanwhile, one person was killed, and three others were injured after a mortar shell fell in Kurram’s Para Chamkani area. The body and the injured were shifted to the Sadda Hospital. The police said that they were investigating the incident.
