Three suspects injured from firing of accomplices: police

ISLAMABAD: Three suspects received bullet injuries from the firing of their accomplices during separate shoot-outs with the police in the capital, while their accomplices managed to escape, said the police on Monday.

In the first incident, a suspect was injured and one of his accomplices was arrested, while another managed to escape. The encounter took place at Jobad Road, about two kilometres from the Tarnol police station. A case has been registered under different sections of Pakistan Penal Code and the Arms Ordinance.

According to the police, a six-member police patrolling team was present at Jobad Road when they got information about the movement of three armed suspects on a motorcycle from Golra Town to the area.

In response, the police reached near China Factory where they were suspected to be present. But all of a sudden, the suspects opened fire on the police and escaped towards the nearby fields.

Two pillion riders fell on the road while the third suspect drove the bike deep inside the fields. Those who fell on the road continued firing on the police. As a result, one of the suspects sustained a bullet injury. The police arrested both the suspects and recovered a 30-bore pistol from each of them.

The injured was shifted to hospital and the other suspect along with the bike was taken to the police station and put behind bars.

In another encounter, a suspect was injured while his accomplice escaped. A case over the incident has been registered at the Kohsar police station.

According to the police claim, eight police officials arrived at Saidpur village for patrolling and searching. The police team was searching people entering and exiting the village from a dirt road.

In the meantime, two persons riding a motorcycle appeared from the Margalla Road side. Over suspicion, the police tried to intercept them, but the suspects attempted to take a u-turn and fell on the road.

They pulled out a pistol and opened fire on the police and escaped towards a nearby wooded area.

Later, the police conducted a search and found one of the suspects injured and lying in the wooded area. He sustained a bullet injury from the firing of his accomplice, who managed to escape, said the police.

A pistol was recovered from the injured suspect.

Likewise, another suspect was injured during an encounter while his accomplices managed to escape at G-9/1.

The police claimed that a police team spotted two suspects and tried to intercept them. However, the suspects opened fire on the police and attempted to escape. One of the suspects sustained a bullet injury from the firing of his accomplice and fell on road and the other managed to escape.

The police overpowered the injured suspect and shifted him to hospital. A case has been registered at the Karachi Company police station, said the police.
