KOHAT: The funeral prayers of the police officers and personnel martyred in a terrorist attack have been offered with full official honours at the New Police Lines here, attended by senior civil and military leadership.

A large number of officers, officials, and local notables participated in the funeral including IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Commissioner Kohat, Muattasim Billah, the deputy commissioner Kohat, DPO Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi, officers of the Pakistan army and ranks of the police force.

A smartly turned-out police contingent presented salute to the martyrs, while senior officials laid floral wreaths on their coffins, offered Fateha and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs ranks.

The participants paid tribute to the fallen heroes, reaffirming that their sacrifices would not go in vain and that the struggle for peace and the eradication of terrorism would continue with full resolve.

The martyrs include DSP Lachi Asad Mehmood, Reader to DSP Wahab Ali, Sub-Inspector Anar Gul, Driver Constable Mudassir, Constable Syed Aamir Abbas and a passerby Samiullah.
