Ali Raza dropped from Shaheens squad

KARACHI: Fast bowler Ali Raza was withdrawn from the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming series against England Lions after the right-armer was found to be requiring rehabilitation for his left knee, the country’s cricket board announced on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said that the decision was made following “a detailed medical assessment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA)”.

“He is currently undergoing a structured rehabilitation programme at the NCA under the supervision of the PCB medical panel,” the board said in a statement.

Ali has been replaced by fellow pacer Moham­mad Amir Khan for the tour which will be held in Abu Dhabi from Feb 20 to March 9 and is set to feature three T20 matches and a five 50-over games.

Shamyl Hussain (captain), Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman, Muhammad Amir Khan, Rohail Nazir (wicket-keeper), Saad Baig (wicket-keeper), Saad Khan, Saad Masood, Sameer Minhas, Shahid Aziz and Sufyan Moqim.
