Opposition can turn tables in KP, claims Amir Muqam

SWABI: The federal minister for Kashmir affairs, Safron and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, said here on Friday that a change in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was not out of the question.

Talking to media persons at the residence of Dildar Khan, additional general secretary of PML-N, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said: “We will prove our majority in the provincial assembly at an appropriate time. A strong opposition alliance with 53 members of the assembly can turn the tables in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

The nation will hold accountable those who turned Kashmir exploitation day into “Imran exploitation day,” he remarked.

He visited Dildar Khan’s residence to offer fateha for the departed soul of his brother who passed away s few days back.

The federal minister said that the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-N wanted to hold talks with the opposition parties, but, unfortunately, the PTI turned down such offers and resorted to politics of violence.

He said that the PML-N had nothing to do with the decisions of the May 9 cases.

He said it was not appropriate for the PTI to protest on Kashmir exploitation day, adding, the nation rejected them and their protest on August 5 was an utter disappointment, he said.

The PML-N leader said that now they had given a call for protest on August 14, which only meant to create chaos in the country on the Independence Day, to please India and Israel.

Addressing the protesters, Akmal Khan, a local leader of Awami National Party (ANP), said that it was unanimously decided that if the robbers were not traced by the police within three days they would stage a protest in the district headquarters.

Other speakers said that two days back the police arrested a watchman in Marghuz bazaar and registered a case against him for possessing a gun.
