LAHORE: An elderly couple died on Thursday after the motorcycle they were riding fell from a bridge in the Johar Town area here.

Initial reports suggested that Afzal (65), a resident of Faisal Town, was going along with his wife on a motorcycle.

When they reached a bridge near Akbar Chowk, the bike slipped and fell on the road below, leaving both of them critically injured.

A police official said that the woman died instantly, while her husband succumbed to his head and neck injuries in the hospital he was immediately shifted to.

He stated that the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.

He said the relatives of the deceased couple have been informed about the incident, and further action will be initiated after completion of the inquiry.
