The director of field hospitals in Gaza, Marwan Al-Hams, has spoken to Al Jazeera about the shortage of blood in the besieged enclave, and said:

  • We are having a problem with the availability of blood bags.
  • We have provided only 3,500 units of blood, but we need more than10,000.
  • We appeal to our brothers in the occupied West Bank to send moreblood units.
  • The Israeli occupation prevents the bringing in of more blood units.
