Amnesty International has criticised the US- and Israel-backed food aid distribution scheme in Gaza, saying, “Food should never come with gunfire.”

In a post on X, Amnesty stated, “Over 500 Palestinians have been killed and 4,000 injured under Israel’s militarised distribution scheme in Gaza.”

“This is not a humanitarian response.”
