SCBA chief raises unrest in Balochistan with CJP

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta while discussing the ongoing situation in Balochistan with Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi on Friday stated that fundamental rights as guaranteed under the Constitution have currently ceased to exist in the province.

Such state of affairs has further deteriorated the law and order situation in the province, leading to widespread unrest, an increase in insurgent activities, and road closures that have directly affected the daily lives of ordinary citizens, said Mr Atta.

The SCBA president shared that, generally, the majority of the political elite agree that the resolution of the genuine grievances of the people of Balochistan lies in the democratic approach, political dialogue and negotiations.

The SCBA president urged the government to nominate a body consisting of senior politicians having full mandate and authority to be dispatched without delay.
