Charged parking abolished in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that charged parking has been abolished in the metropolis.

Talking to the media on the premises of the Sindh Assembly on Monday, Mr Memon said that any charged parking space, if found, would be considered illegal from today.

Last week, the Sindh cabinet had decided to abolish all charged parking spaces, whether under the management of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation or any other civic body.

In response to a question, he stated that heavy traffic is a major issue in Karachi, as it is a port city that receives heavy transport from across Pakistan.

Talking about the mega cricket tournament in Karachi, he said that the Sindh government would provide complete security for the Champions Trophy.
