Israeli military says 20 to 30 fighters were in UNRWA school hit in Gaza air strike

The Israeli military assessed that there were 20-30 fighters located in the United Nations Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) school hit by an air strike in the early hours of the morning, a spokesperson has said, Reuters reports.

Israeli military spokesperson Lt Col Peter Lerner said many of the fighters had been killed and said he was unaware of civilian casualties from the strike, which the media said killed at least 27 people.
