TAXILA: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday seized 1,100 litres of fake carbonated and fizzy drinks being supplied to the markets during a successful raid in Jehri Kass area near Hassanabdal.
According to a spokesperson for the PFA, the authority’s enforcement team led by Assistant Food Safety Officer Mohammad Zahid intercepted a pickup and seized the fake carbonated and fizzy drinks.
The spokesman said the drinks were prepared with loose colours, hazardous chemicals and polluted water.
He said the PFA was committed to ensuring a zero-tolerance policy against adulteration in Punjab.
