Over 80,000 people have fled Rafah following Israeli ground assault, says UN agency

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has said that “around 80,000 people have fled Rafah” following the Israeli ground assault.

“People are facing yet another forced displacement in the Gaza Strip,” the agency said in a post on X.

The agency added that the people who have fled Rafah are “seeking refuge elsewhere”, however, the “toll on these families is unbearable” as “nowhere is safe”.
