Women found involved in robberies

ISLAMABAD: Women have also been found involved in robbing people at gunpoint as two such cases were reported to the police on Saturday.

Moreover, a policeman’s motorcycle was stolen from the Police Lines Headquarters, said the police.

According to the police, two women entered a beauty parlour set up in a house at Sangam Town and held up the owner Misbah and her mother Musarrat and others at gunpoint. The women then looted Rs100,000 and escaped.

A case was registered at the Khanna police station, the police said, adding the women were aged between 30 and 40 years.

In another incident, a woman along with two men looted cash and a mobile phone from a woman at PWD Colony.

Three riders of a motorcycle, including the woman, intercepted Dr Shahzai when she was returning home from a market. The armed persons held her at gunpoint and snatched her purse containing Rs12,000 and an iPhone. The Loi Bher police registered a case into the incident.

Moreover, two women withdrew Rs165,000 from the bank account of a man after stealing his ATM card, police said.

Asadullah, a welder by profession, went to the ATM booth of a bank in Gola Mor and found some women inside. After some time, the women came out and complained that the ATM was malfunctioning and asked Asad to help them.

He also tried with the ATM card given to him by one of the women but the result was the same. Asad then used his own ATM card and withdrew Rs5,000.

At the request of the women, he handed over his card to them. The women swiped the card into the machine and gave it back. Asad left the booth and later started receiving messages from the bank that Rs165,000 had been withdrawn from his account in multiple transactions.

In another incident, the motorcycle of a policeman was stolen from inside the heavily guarded Police Lines Headquarters. Faisal Qadeer parked his bike in the parking area of the old IGP office, which now houses the office of the DIG law and order. He later found the motorcycle stolen.

The Shams Colony police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
