The health ministry in Gaza has said that at least 34,049 people have been killed in the territory during more than six months of fighting between Israel and Hamas, AFP reports.

The tally includes at least 37 deaths in the past 24 hours, a ministry statement said, adding that 76,901 people have been wounded in the Gaza Strip since fighting began when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.
