Kite flyer dies after fall from roof

KASUR: An eight-year-old boy died after falling from the roof of his house while flying kite on Sunday at village Jagowala in the limits of Pattoki police station.

This is the third consecutive weekend when kite lovers flouted the ban despite hectic efforts of the district police to nab the violators.

According to police, Ali Raza, 8, was flying kite at the rooftop of his house when he fell down on the ground. Raza succumbed to his head injury on his way to hospital.

Police, however, continued its operation against violators. It claimed to have arrested about two dozen suspects and recovered hundreds of kites, twine rolls and music instruments.

Police also warned the violators through mosque loudspeakers.
