UN relief chief Martin Griffiths has said that aid workers trying to help the families in Gaza “must be protected”.

“Devastating news for our colleagues in Gaza who have borne so much loss already, and for the families they were trying to help,” Griffiths said in a post on X.

“How are we to maintain aid operations when our teams and supplies are constantly under threat?” he asked, adding that the “war has to stop”.
