Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Nasser Kanaani, called the US actions “ridiculous” and a way for it to divert public opinions away from its unwavering support of Israel, Al Jazeera reports.

Kanaani said the US could have prevented the ongoing war but instead chose to stick with “the Zionist regime” by sending weapons and vetoing ceasefire resolutions at the UN Security Council.

“The US just wants to cover its warmongering face before the public opinion,” he added.
