OIC calls for ‘unconditional ceasefire’ in Gaza
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation has called for an “unconditionalceasefire” to prevent further loss of life in Gaza.
According to a communique issued by the organisation after an “extraordinary session”, the OIC called on the international community to open an immediate investigation leading to holding Israeli authorities accountable for the “crimes” committed against media professionals in the occupied Palestinian territory.
It held Israel responsible for the killings, arrest and censorship of journalists as well as the murder and targeting of their family members, recalling that Israel’s intentional attacks on journalists have killed over 120 of them.
It condemned that Israeli forces were unwilling to take the most basic steps to ensure the safety of journalists.
