Snipers ‘shoot at every moving object’ around Nasser Hospital

Nasser Hospital, in southern Khan Younis city, has been terrorised over the last few days as a result of snipers targeting civilians in its vicinity, reports Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud from Rafah, southern Gaza.

“They shoot at every moving object, killing medical staff, evacuees, and those trying to get to the hospital for treatment. These people have been killed at the gate of the hospital and even inside the complex.

“About 300 medical staff in the hospital are overwhelmed and exhausted. There are also 450 patients and wounded people inside. The worst of this is that 10,000 evacuees — who cannot leave since the Israeli ground invasion started – are sheltering inside the facility. This is simply because there is no safer place to go,” Mahmoud said.

“What is going on is a reminder of the Israeli military strategy targeting healthcare facilities — starting with a military siege of the complex, then exhausting its resources, and eventually storming the hospital.”
