Iran, Qatar foreign ministers hold phone call on Gaza situation
The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar held a phone call to discuss efforts to stop the crisis in Gaza as Doha-mediated multilateral talks to strike a deal between Israel and Hamas are reportedly progressing, Al Jazeera reports.
The foreign ministries of both countries confirmed late last night that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani spoke about ways to end the devastating conflict.
“The foreign ministers of both countries affirmed the majority of political actors emphasise stopping the war and seriously focusing on a political solution,” the Iranian foreign ministry said in a statement.
