Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner general of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, has warned that the cut in funding for UNRWA is leading to a collapse in the humanitarian operation in Gaza.

His remarks come after several countries cut funding for the agency following Israel’s allegations that UNRWA employees were involved in the Oct 7 Hamas attack.
