Israeli govt will not accept Gaza deal leaving Hamas in control: spokesperson

Efforts are ongoing to bring about the release of the captives held in Gaza but declined to elaborate, saying lives were hanging in the balance, says Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy.

The spokesperson also said Israel would not agree to a deal with Hamas that would leave captives remaining in the Gaza Strip or allow the group to stay in control of the enclave.
