The gunboats are hitting coastal areas of Gaza City which has also been the site of heavy air strikes, Al Jazeera reports.
At least 12 people have been killed from a strike that hit a residence near the city’s Al-Shifa Hospital.
Last night, Israeli forces also sieged several schools sheltering thousands of displaced people in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood in southern Gaza City, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
