Dutch Port of Rotterdam feels squeeze on trade as Red Sea tensions reach Europe

Container ships carrying food, clothes, computers and medicine are being forced to divert away from the Red Sea due to the threat of Houthi attacks on commercial vessels in the area, Al Jazeera reports.

Port economist Bart Kuipers estimates that for each ship carrying about 15,000 containers, longer routes will add about $16m in additional costs.
