UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for accounts of alleged “sexual violence committed by Hamas and others” during the October 7 surprise attack on Israel to be “rigorously investigated and prosecuted”.

In a post on X, he said, “Nothing can justify the deliberate killing, injuring and kidnapping of civilians.”

In a separate post earlier today, he demanded an “immediate and unconditional release of all hostages” taken by Hamas.
