The Israeli army has announced that 1,106 soldiers were wounded since the start of the Gaza ground operation, 240 seriously, Al Jazeera reports.

The army also reported that 12 officers and soldiers were injured in Gaza Strip battles over the past 24 hours.

Since the start of Israel’s ground operation in late October, 187 Israeli soldiers have been killed, according to the military.
