Refugee camp raid leaves extensive destruction: report
Israeli forces caused widespread damage to the infrastructure of Nur Shams camp east of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarem after a raid that lasted for about 7 hours, Al Jazeera reports.
The head of the emergency department in the Tulkarem municipality, Hakim Abu Safiya, told Wafa news agency that the camp was subjected to “a broader and more comprehensive attack”, which caused devastation to sanitation, water and electricity infrastructure.
“There is no street inside the camp or alley that has not been destroyed,” he said.
Abu Safiya added that the municipality and public works crews went to the camp immediately after the Israeli forces withdrew, and worked to remove rubble and open the roads.
