Israeli forces have shot dead a Palestinian youth accused of attempting a “stabbing attack” against them, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa, Al Jazeera reports.

The shooting took place near the Ein Sinya checkpoint, north of the occupied West Bank town of Ramallah.

The report, which cited local sources, said the checkpoint is now closed.
