US Secretary of State Antony Blinken rejected statements by Israeli officials calling for the mass displacement of Gaza residents, Al Jazeera reports.

“They [Palestinian civilians] cannot — they must not — be pressed to leave Gaza,” he said.

Despite highlighting the need to protect Gaza’s civilians, the US Department of State has issued emergency declarations twice in recent weeks to deliver military equipment and ammunition to Israel without congressional oversight.
