Thousands gather for Saleh al-Arouri’s funeral in Beirut
Thousands of people carrying the flags of different Palestinian factions, as well as the Palestine flag, have congregated in Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut, waiting for the funeral of Saleh al-Arouri to begin, Al Jazeera reports.
He is expected to be buried at the cemetery in Shatila refugee camp.
Al-Arouri, the deputy chief of Hamas, was assassinated in his office on Tuesday along with six other members of the movement. While Israel has not officially claimed responsibility, Israeli media reported that the killing was carried out by an Israeli fighter jet using guided missiles.
