Missing minor girl found dead in Samundri

TOBA TEK SINGH: The 11-year-old girl who went missing on Saturday was found dead in Chak 467-GB Sharifpura, Samundri, on Sunday.

According to Samundri police, Eiman Fatima, the daughter of a furniture shop owner Muhammad Ramzan, went to buy sweets from a grocery store in the street but did not return home. Her parents searched for her everywhere but in vain. On Sunday, her body was found on rooftop of the house of her neighbour Muhammad Aslam. There were blood marks on her clothes.

Police shifted the body to Samundri Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for autopsy and took seven men of the village into custody for interrogation. The suspects included Muhammad Haseeb, Muaz Ali, Habibullah, Muhammad Saad, Muneeb Ahmad, Abdul Wahab and Muhammad Arshad.

CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani said the postmortem would confirm whether the victim was raped or not.

ARRESTED: The Dolphin Squad arrested two robbery suspects after an encounter in the Millat Town police area of Faisalabad.

The squad signaled two motorcyclists to stop but they opened fire, which was retaliated. Later, both the suspects were arrested. They were identified as Dilawar Adeel of Chak 537-GB and Majeed Abbas of Chak 534-GB. Police said both were wanted in a number of cases.

SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide in Noorpura locality near Satiana Road in the Saddar police area of Faisalabad.

Rescue 1122 said Zain Ahmad Yar (19) was depressed about his financial conditions and he hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his house.

In another incident, another jobless man ended his life in Mahmoodabad locality of Faisalabad. Faisal Siddique (32) took poison after he could not find work.

INJURED: An alleged robber, wanted in more than three dozen robberies, in Muzaffargarh and Jhang districts, was injured in an encounter with Jhang’s Kotwali police.

Police said four suspects robbed a citizen near Kholra locality. They were fleeing after committing the crime when a police party chased them and fire was exchanged between them and police. When the firing stopped, police found one of them wounded while his three accomplices managed to escape. The injured suspect was identified as Muzammil Hussain of Kot Addu. Police claimed he was injured by the firing of his own accomplices. He was admitted to the district headquarters hospital.

LIBRARY: Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh issued directions for establishing a ‘Qahwa Corner’ and mobile phone charging point in Allama Iqbal Library. During his visit, he asked the officials to set up a computer section in the library and complete the development work within two months. He said the library would remain open even on Sundays and sessions would be held for young children on the importance of books from January 2023.
