KARACHI: Dengue fever mortalities rose to 43 on Friday when the health depart­ment reported another death from the mosquito-borne disease in Karachi.

Officials said the female patient died at Ziauddin Hospital, North Nazimabad, on Oct 5. Thirty-nine deaths have so far been reported from Karachi alone.

Official stats show 268 cases occurred in the city on Oct 6; Karachi East (61), Central (76), Korangi (41), South (32), West (15), Malir (32) and Kaemari (11).
