Eight SAPMs get portfolios

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday allotted portfolios to eight new special assistants (SAPMs).

A source in the government said they all belonged to one of the main government allies — PPP. Fifteen other SAPMs are still waiting for their slots.

Those given the portfolios are: Raza Rabbani Khar (commerce), Faisal Karim Kundi (poverty alleviation and social security), Nawabzada Iftikhar Babar (Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan), Tasneem Qureshi (industries and production), Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha (water resources), Sardar Saleem (overseas Pak­istanis), Mir Irshad (inter-provincial coordination) and Mahesh Kumar (health).
