KARACHI: Six persons suffered burn wounds in a blast that took place in a water tank in the Sachal area on Sunday.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said that some labourers were called to clean an underground water tank in Ghazi Goth. They lit a matchstick due to darkness but it triggered an explosion and fire due to accumulated gases.

As a result, six persons suffered burn injuries. They were taken to the Burns Centre of Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi where condition of two of them was stated to be precarious.

Woman found dead in Korangi

The body of an unidentified woman, appeared to be in her mid-30s, was found at a desolate place near Sherwani City, Bagh-i-Korangi, on Sunday evening.

The Awami Colony police and rescue services said that the body had lain there for around 10-11 days.

The corpse was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to ascertain the cause of her death.
