RAWALPINDI: An official spokesman today [Nov 30] re-emphasised that Pakistan will not be able to tolerate Indian aggression, and said the rest­ra­i­­nt being exercised by Pakistan should not be tak­en as a sign of weakness. Replying to newsmen’s questions at a Press briefing here today, the spok­e­­­­sman hoped the world was aware that something in the nature of major aggression had taken place… .

He said Pakistan’s intention to defend herself by all the means “at our disposal is always there”. But he added, there was also the intention to prevent outbreak of all-out hostility in the hope that Pakistan’s “restraint” will be appreciated. — Special representative

[Meanwhile, according to a report from Dacca,] Two persons were killed and two others wounded when some armed men opened fire on them at Shantibagh early tonight [Nov 30], according to Police sources.

The two who fell to the assassins’ bullets were Mr Shahjahan, Joint Secretary, Dacca City Con­vention Muslim League and Chairman, Khilgaon Union Muslim League, and Sheikh Nasirullah, member, Rajarbagh Union Committee. According to Police, the victims were sitting in a tea stall at Shantibagh when five to six persons armed with sten-guns appeared there and opened fire killing them on the spot.
