PIA plans chartered flights from Kabul

KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Saturday said it was keen to resume its regular flight operation to Afghanistan and in the first phase it was making arrangements to operate chartered flights to and from Kabul.

“PIA has been approached by a few organisations [in Kabul] for chartered flights and it has sought permission [from the government] to operate the flights,” PIA spokesperson Abdullah H. Khan said. “There are still certain arrangements that need to be finalised for operating the chartered flights.”

He said that the schedule of such flights would be announced only after finalisation of necessary arrangements.

He advised interested parties to contact the PIA office in Islamabad or Kabul for chartered flights.
