Young man shot dead on Nipa flyover

KARACHI: A young man was shot dead in a Gulshan-i-Iqbal locality, police said on Saturday.

The Aziz Bhatti police said that Kashif, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was targeted on the Nipa flyover late on Friday night.

Area SHO Pervez Solangi said that the victim was on foot when armed men fired at him and fled.

The victim worked at a shop in the city and was a resident of Surjani Town.

The police ruled out robbery as a likely motive for the murder as his mobile phone and cash were not taken away.

The family also told the police that they did not have enmity with anyone.

The police said they were probing the case to ascertain the possible motive and identity of the killers.

Man killed inside Orangi mosque

A 45-year-old man was shot dead in a mosque in Orangi Town when he was performing ablution on Saturday.

Police said that the incident took place inside Rabbani Masjid near Baloch Para.

Area SHO Malik Riaz Niazi said the murder appeared to be motivated by some personal enmity.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfil medico-legal formalities.
