TAXILA: The Attock district administration on Saturday called upon the religious and prayer leaders of different schools of taught to ensure enforcement of Covid-19 SOPs in religious gatherings.

In a meeting of district peace committee which was held at deputy commissioner’s office Punjab Minister for Social Welfare and Baaitul Maal Yawar Boukhari said the government had decidedto implement SOPs to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic during the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting was attended by officials of local administration, police, law enforcement agencies and religious leaders of different schools of taught.

It was decided that the religious leaders would be informed about SOPs especially during Traveeh, Yum-e-Ali and Eid gatherings.

The minister said the religious scholars of different schools of should tell their followers to act responsibly in their religious gatherings by taking precautionary measures such as avoiding public gatherings in order to help the government contain the further spread of Covid-19 especially during Traveeh, Atekaf, Youm-i-Ali and Eid prayers.
