KARACHI: A motorcyclist was killed when a kite string slit his throat on main Shahrah-i-Quaideen on Sunday evening, according to police.

Ferozabad-Bahadurabad SHO Aurangzeb Khattak said that Omair Ahmed Siddiqui, 34, was passing through the Noorani traffic intersection when he got entangled in a kite string stuck in a tree.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Man shot dead

A 38-year-old man was shot dead in the Manghopir area on Sunday morning, according to police.

Area SHO Abdul Khaliq said that Iqrarullah was sitting in a Suzuki van along with his younger brother, Rafiullah, when four/five armed men emerged there. One of them came close to him, used swear words against him and opened indiscriminate fire killing him on the spot.

He suffered seven/eight bullet wounds. The body was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination.

The officer opined that the murder appeared to be an outcome of some personal enmity.
