RAWALPINDI: As many 25 people tested positive in the district and 39 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.

Nine of the new patients reached hospitals from cantonment areas, five from Potohar Town, three from Rawal Town, two patients each from Gujar Khan, Kahuta and Murree and one from Taxila.

There are at present 294 active patients and 56 of them are in hospitals and 216 patients home isolated. Moreover, 471 patients are waiting for their results of Covid-19 serology.

Officials said nine patients were admitted in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 19 in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH), 10 in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), one in Red Crescent Hospital (RCH), two in Hearts International Hospital, one in Begum Akhter Sultana Memorial Trust Hospital and 14 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU).

According to figures released by the health department control room, six patients are in critical condition and on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 36 on oxygen and 14 are stable.

So far, 15,650 patients have been discharged from hospitals after their recovery in the four districts - 12,863 in Rawalpindi, 1,098 in Attock, 1,194 in Jhelum and 534 in Chakwal.

Besides, 720 people have died of the disease in Rawalpindi Division in the last 11 months - 592 in Rawalpindi, 27 in Attock, 33 in Jhelum and 68 in Chakwal.

Islamabad

A slight increase was seen in the number of cases in the capital as 75 new patients emerged on Tuesday compared to 59 reported on Monday.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 6,171 tests were conducted in which 54 males and 21 females tested positive. The positivity rate remained 1.2 per cent.

They said 21 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29 followed by 13 in 10-19, 11 in 30-39, nine in 50-59, eight in 0-9, six in 40-49, five in 60-69 and two in 70-79.

Nine cases each were reported from I-8 and I-10, eight from Loi Bher, seven from G-10, five each from G-11, Bhara Kahu, four each from F-1, F-8, three each from Khanna, Tarlai, two each from Chak Shahzd, Kurri, F-7, Sohan and one each from G-6, G-8, G-13, E-11, G-9, G-7, F-10, Sihala, G-13 and Rawal Town.
